Prosperity Consciousness

Many years ago a colleague recommended I read Ayn Rand novel Atlas Shrugged to start off with my study of prosperity. It’s a very thick book but it easily explained why entrepreneurs are the life blood of the world.

Then I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and found it very helpful, I liked Cashflow Quadrant a bit better. If you already know why you want to do your own business then skipping this book is fine.

After a number of years with no real great success and reading many books I went to a seminar and meet Fredrick Lehrman and won his audio course Prosperity Consciousness. His program is fantastic and I started using some of his processes right away. I started seeing opportunity everywhere. Then a little while later a colleague of mine recommended Abraham-Hicks so I got their book Ask And It Is Given and I loved the processes. I started to use their money processes and could see them working instantly.

I started to get more into marketing as I learned that many entrepreneurs are in charge of marketing for their company. Then Joe Vitale had a very special dinner with Dr. Len Hew and I went with a colleague in real estate. After the very nice dinner and talk the lady I went with and I started dating, I didn’t get home to 5am. Nancy and I are still together and very much in love. My story is in Joe’s book Zero Limits on page 101. Later on I was in in Joe’s book Expect Miracles.

Then the movie The Secret came out. I bought it as soon as it was available, the version with Abraham-Hicks in it before they got edited out. The movie floored me, I was speechless watching it. Very well done. The new version is also good.

I then started this website AbundanceUnlimited.com and I write about prosperity and abundance. I started out writing week day. That brought me a lot of traffic. I also create products based on what works for me to increase my abundance.

I wrote a book Play Prosperity Games that took law of attraction and creativity and my system of how to come up with new business ideas based on what you love and it was well received. See a full list of all my products.

I’ve used contractors for technical work for years but The Four Hour Work Week showed me that I needed a virtual assistant right away. I hired one a few days later. Then went on a two month vacation to Europe (photos on Flickr).

Organization

I use Getting Things Done, along with the great to do list manager Remember The Milk, Basecamp for projects with other people, and all the Google tools to keep on track stress free. GTD is a great organization system that is flexible and easy to do.

After a few horrible marketing seminars I learned about Book Yourself Solid and I found Michael Port’s workbook for his book to be excellent. I also learned a lot about sales copy from Joe Vitale’s book Hypnotic Writing.

Web Sites/Web Hosting

It’s important to get the right hosting for your Internet Marketing because then its much easier to do some of the things I recommend. I highly recommend that you work with someone who can do the web stuff that you need to do. Trying to do it all yourself is a great big waste of time and will cost you more. Concentrate on marketing and get technical help.

Shopping Carts/Autoresponders

I recommend Paypal for simple solutions, then E-Junkie if you need multiple products and a simple affiliate program, and then 1ShoppingCart if you need to do master affiliates and more complex marketing scenarios.  I highly recommend Aweber if you need an autoresponder.

If you want to look into taking credit cards online then email me at support at abundanceunlimited.com and I will make an introduction for you to the best and most inexpensive place to get a merchant account.  They accept clients in large part based on recommendations from existing relationships they have. I’ve heard many horror stories from other companies and these people are the best. I can’t guarantee they’ll accept your business but I can guarantee they’ll take your application seriously and that they are a top notch choice for merchant accounts in a sea of not so great choices.

Creating Audio/Video Products

For creating ScreenCam video products I recommend you check out Camtasia by Techsmith.com. They have a free 30 day trial of their software, too.

To captures images on your computer I recommend EverNote. It’s free and also will remember anything you want. Great tool.

For audio products and audio for video products I highly recommend the Samson C03U at Amazon.com, it allows you to record yourself, two people and entire room, get flexibility. Get the ‘Podcast Package’ as the carrying case and shock mount is well worth it.

To record audio I highly recommend Audacity which is free and easy to use.

To record someone over the phone I recommend actually doing it via Skype, a Skype to Skype call is much clearer sounding than over the phone.  To record audio over Skype I recommend Tapur.  To do it over normal phone lines I recommend TotallyFreeConferenceCalls.com
